The FAS3040 is an exceptional value mid-level storage system that is versatile, scalable and reliable for both SAN and NAS applications and consolidations. The FAS3000 series is fully compatible with the broad family of NetApp FAS systems, which meet a range of storage needs from small remote office and departmental applications through the largest enterprise application and consolidations.

With its large cache memory configurations, expandable high-performance I/O, 4Gb FC SAN support, and support for 10GbE, the FAS3040 delivers exceptional midrange systems performance. The FAS3040 comes with SnapShot which provides superior availability along with storage resiliency features, and disaster recovery options. Resilient features such as RAID-DP (High-performance RAID6 ), ensures that the FAS3040 storage system is always up and running.

The FAS3040 can use both high-performance Fibre Channel and low-cost SATA disk drives for primary and secondary storage while seamlessly consolidating block and file storage on the same system. This is made possible through the native support of the FCP, iSCSI, NFS, and CIFS storage protocols via Fibre Channel or Ethernet interfaces.
